Model Answer
This figure shows the steam generation by a gas-cooled reactor.
Overall, there are two main components called reactors and heat exchangers. The pipe is connected from the heat exchanger to the reactor. A gas blower is installed to send the cooling gas to the reactor.
The reactor is covered with a concrete radiation shield. The heart of the reactor is the uranium fuel element and graphite moderator. The boron control lane is connected to the uranium fuel assembly from the graphite moderator. Inside, there is a small space for the gas to flow from bottom to top. The whole is covered/surrounded by a pressure vessel.
Furthermore, in the next part, there is a water pipe connected to the bottom of the heat exchanger. Water circulators are used to transfer water to heat exchangers. With the help of heat, water is converted to steam. The pipes pass inside the heat exchanger, exit from the top, and steam can exit through the turbine generator. Meanwhile, the hot gas sinks to the bottom of the heat exchanger flows through the gas blower, is pushed into the cooling gas duct and returns to the reactor.
