Model Answer

The diagram depicts how leather products are made for retail use. It has a total of eight to ten steps.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is apparent that the process starts from the drying step which is a man-made process, and finished with the production of consumer products.

First, animal skin is dried under the heat of the sun by hanging it on a rope. After that, they are brought to a plant by truck. The animal’s skin is cleaned with water and lime. The skins are then dipped into more lime for some time. Afterwards, animal skin is smoothed by a flattened machine having on the big roller.

In the next step, the flattened skins are again soaked in tannin, which is composed of water and vegetable matter. Then, a small roller serves to polish the leather. The material is transferred to another factory by trucks where leather goods such as bags, shoes and balls are manufactured.
