Question Overview

Topic : Governments should not provide care or financial support
Type : Opinion

Model Answer

People have different perspectives on whether a government should encourage the retired and elderly individuals financially or not. It is mainly an individual’s responsibility to conserve money for their retirement, but I disagree that older people should not receive any state assistance. The combination of private support and the government’s support might be the best possible alternative for your retired older people.

I think that the government should encourage the elderly individuals financially as it is the component of a social democracy that claims the equality of chances and supply of resources fairly. By way of example, many developed nations like Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States follow this strategy by permitting some money to be cashed for older adults upon retirement. Moreover, it is their right to possess financial support as they had paid their taxes throughout their lives. So they have to take some of their cash back when they need it.

On the other side, those older folks do not have any alternate method of earning, as their odds for employment is relatively low compared to the young men and women; they need to be taken care of from the economies they have, by their kids and from the government.

The folks should always have savings and family members who would be taking care of them when they become old. The parents manage their children and sacrifice a good deal. The kids should remain prepared to look after their older parents. A sensible person would have some savings for his older years, and thus an individual also must save for their future need. What is more, the government cannot deny its role to take care of older people. The blend of these three could be compelling to take care of people when they become old.

In conclusion, governments must provide senior citizens with their financial needs as part of ensuring their well-being. At precisely the same time, it is an individual’s responsibility to save money for their most challenging period plus their sons and daughters have some responsibilities as well.
