Online education is a relatively new fad along with thousands of educational institutes have already embraced this approach to offer their courses. Though a few harmful elements of this development could not be dismissed, the advantages of it far outweigh the demerits.

To start with, many universities in developed countries offer online degrees and short courses, and they have started doing so only after proper study. The study proved that the Internet-based courses are valuable both for its students and teachers. The intuitive and methodical lessons offered through an internet course is planned by several college teachers and technology specialists, and hence they assert a rigid quality. The widespread usage of the web makes it easy for individuals to enrol in a path without thinking about time and distance. This trend has brought thousands of professionals, homemakers and older people to pursue their education or take courses following their interests. For instance, as many as twenty-five million housewives in the united states complete their favourite online courses and diplomas annually. Attending traditional classroom-based courses were hopeless for this large number of homemakers and busy professionals.

Furthermore, Internet-based classes are more comfortable to follow along with a person may retake the very same classes over and over again, unlike traditional courses. So many students have reported the Khan Academy, Linda, and Udemy, renowned Internet-based online course sites, to function as their preferred learning tool. Lots of skill-developing online classes have helped thousands of young individuals to pursue their livelihood in engineering, and this has been possible using Internet-based learning.

The disadvantage of this trend is that the cost and lack of proper supervision by a teacher. Courses provided by prestigious universities are often far too expensive for a poor student to endure. Teachers’ guidance and motivation frequently play a fantastic role in a student’s success, along with the online course cannot be a suitable substitute for the motivation teachers can provide.

To conclude, technological progress in education, notably the online instruction, is a terrific leap to the planet without illiteracy and unemployment.
