How much responsibility that a young child should take and whether contemporary children are much less interested in doing their duties and duties is problematic. While offspring in some countries still take many responsibilities, a significant number of these, in other nations, are busy with their education and personal interests. I feel that how children take responsibilities has changed over the time, mainly as a positive change, and also to the extent a kid must execute these duties ought to be decided by the family and social illness.
To start with, the social, economic and household structure in earlier times in the majority of the underdeveloped and developing countries, driven parents to distribute responsibilities among children and it was common for several young kids to work hard and take care of younger relatives aside from their schooling. These young kids learnt how to handle budgets, discuss things with other household members and face difficulties in life. Those essential lessons, as stated by many, are not any more spread one of the modern young generations and so they become more selfish.
Nevertheless, with the change of the family structure and social standard, people these days want their kids to excel in education and other creative fields rather than taking good care of the household. Joint household predominated the parents and society had more kids previously. With the growth of the family and one-to-two-child-family policy, parents focus on a child’s education, unlike the past. In my opinion, penalizing children for not taking duties is an impartial decision as contemporary children have a lot more pressure from parents and schools. They are not predicted to make money or do household works in a well-to-do family. With the increasing literacy levels, fewer discrimination in a household, women empowerment and a much better lifestyle, the trend has more favourable outcomes, without a doubt.
To conclude, these days, we need our kids to be the best scorer, best athlete and outshine in what they do, unlike yesteryear, when parents desired assistance in their offspring to encourage the household. Thus the changes have brought many improvements, and the move was unavoidable with the paradigm shift of the societal arrangement.
