示例答案

I am generally a very impatient person and I don’t like waiting for long periods of time. However, there was one special occasion when I didn’t mind waiting at all because it was one of the happiest moments of my life.

What you waited for?

I was waiting for the birth of my niece. My sister was expecting her first child, and our entire family was extremely excited. It was going to be the first baby in our immediate family, so the anticipation was overwhelming.

Where you waited?

As per the doctor’s advice, my sister was admitted to a local hospital on the 6th of July. I waited outside the hospital along with my parents and brother-in-law. My sister was in the labor room for almost five to six hours, but to me, it felt like an eternity. We kept pacing around the waiting area and constantly looking at the door, hoping for good news.

Why it was special?

It was special because I was about to become an uncle for the first time in my life. Moreover, this happened during the COVID period, so we were even more concerned about the health and safety of both the baby and my sister. We didn’t care whether it would be a boy or a girl; we just prayed that both of them would be healthy. When the doctor finally came out and announced that my sister had delivered a baby girl, I felt an indescribable joy. My father immediately brought sweets to distribute, and we all congratulated each other with tears in our eyes.

And explain how you felt when you were waiting?

While waiting, I felt a mix of excitement, anxiety, and nervousness. My heart was racing the entire time. Every minute felt longer than usual. However, the moment I heard the good news, all my stress disappeared. When I held my niece for the first time and saw how tiny and delicate she was, I was filled with happiness. My sister later named her Prisha, which means “God’s gift,” and interestingly, it was a name I had suggested.

Conclusion

That day remains one of the most memorable days of my life. Waiting for my niece’s birth taught me that some moments are truly worth the wait.

后续问题 (第3部分)

On what occasions do people usually need to wait?

People have to wait in many everyday situations, such as waiting for public transport, food at restaurants, medical appointments, or job results. Waiting is often necessary when a process involves multiple people or certain procedures.

Who behaves better when waiting, children or adults?

In general, adults tend to behave better because they are more mature and understand that some things take time. Children, on the other hand, usually want immediate results and may struggle with patience.

Compared to the past, are people less patient now? Why?

Yes, I believe people are less patient nowadays because technology has made everything faster and more convenient. Instant deliveries, high-speed internet, and quick services have reduced our tolerance for delays.

What are the positive and negative effects of waiting on society?

On the positive side, waiting can help people develop patience and emotional control. It can also show respect and understanding in social situations. On the negative side, excessive waiting—such as delays in medical emergencies or official work—can lead to frustration and reduced productivity.
