示例答案

There are many occasions in life when we need to encourage others to step outside their comfort zone. I would like to talk about a time when I encouraged my close friend Ravi to try something adventurous that he was initially very reluctant to do.

Who he or she is?

Ravi is one of my childhood friends. We have known each other for many years and share a strong bond. He is generally quite cautious and tends to avoid risky activities, especially those involving heights.

What you encouraged him/her to do?

During the winter vacations, we planned a trip to Rishikesh to take a break after being stuck indoors during the COVID period. Our original plan was just sightseeing. However, when we reached there, we discovered that Rishikesh is famous for adventure sports like paragliding and cliff diving. I was thrilled and immediately wanted to try paragliding. However, Ravi refused because he is slightly afraid of heights.

How he/she reacted?

Initially, he clearly said no and didn’t even want to consider the idea. I tried to convince him by explaining all the safety measures involved. Later, I suggested that we talk to people who had already experienced it. We spoke to a few participants at the paragliding site, and they described it as one of the best experiences of their lives. This helped calm him down. Finally, I told him that I would go first, and if everything went smoothly, he should give it a try. To my surprise, after watching me land safely, he gathered the courage and agreed to do it.

And explain why you encouraged him/her?

I encouraged him because I knew he would regret missing the opportunity. It was not just about adventure; it was about overcoming his fear. I wanted him to build confidence and realize that he is capable of more than he thinks. After completing the activity, he felt extremely proud and happy. Although he firmly refused when I suggested doing it again, I could see that the experience boosted his self-confidence.

Conclusion

This incident taught me that sometimes people just need a little push and reassurance. Encouragement can help someone conquer their fears and create unforgettable memories.
