Sample Answer

I don’t watch movies very frequently nowadays, but about two weeks ago, I went to the cinema to watch Avatar: Fire and Ash. I had been looking forward to it for quite some time.

When it was?

I watched the movie around two weeks ago at a nearby cinema hall with a couple of my friends. It was a weekend show, and the theatre was almost full, which made me even more excited.

Why you didn't like it?

The main reason I didn’t like the movie was that the storyline felt repetitive. I had already watched the first two parts in theatres and thoroughly enjoyed them. However, this installment seemed to follow a very similar pattern—conflict, intense action scenes, emotional drama, and eventually the main character overcoming all challenges. It lacked novelty and surprise.

Why you decided to watch it?

I decided to watch it because I was a big fan of the previous parts. Before booking the tickets, I also read several online reviews, and most of them were positive. Based on that, I had high expectations. The trailer also looked visually stunning, so I thought it would be worth watching on the big screen.

And explain why you felt disappointed about it?

I felt disappointed because the movie did not meet my expectations. I could easily predict the ending, which reduced the excitement. Despite all the challenges shown in the film, it was obvious that the protagonist would win in the end. Moreover, I feel that I have outgrown this type of action-adventure movie. If I had watched it during my childhood, I might have enjoyed the visual effects and fight scenes more. By the end of the movie, I felt that I could have waited to watch it later on a streaming platform like Netflix instead of spending money on a theatre ticket.

Conclusion

Overall, although the movie had impressive visuals, it failed to impress me due to its predictable plot and repetitive storyline. It taught me not to rely entirely on hype and reviews before deciding to watch a film in the cinema.

Follow-up Questions (Part 3)

Do you believe movie reviews?

Most of the time, yes. In many cases, my experience has matched the general ratings. However, there have been times when I disagreed with popular opinions. I usually trust a few critics whose tastes align with mine.

What are the different types of films in your country?

In my country, popular film genres include romance, action, comedy, horror, and historical dramas. Romantic comedies and action films are especially popular among young audiences.

Are historical films popular in your country? Why?

Yes, historical films are quite popular because they create a strong emotional connection with viewers. Many of them focus on important events like the freedom struggle, which inspires patriotism.

Do you think films with famous actors are more likely to become successful?

Yes, famous actors can attract a large audience initially. However, long-term success depends on the quality of the story and overall production. Star power alone cannot guarantee sustained success.

Why are Japanese animated films so popular?

Japanese animated films are popular because they have unique storytelling, deep characters, and imaginative worlds. They often combine fantasy with emotional depth, which appeals to viewers of all ages.

Should directors pay a lot of money to famous actors?

It is reasonable to pay famous actors well because they contribute to a film’s popularity. However, the budget should be balanced so that enough resources are allocated to the script, direction, and technical aspects of the movie.
