Model Answers and follow up questions to describe an art item you made at school IELTS cue card:

Model Answer:

Introduction:
Well, I have interest in art and craft right from childhood and in my school days, I crafted various items of art.

When it was?
Now I am going to talk about a pen stand that I made when I was in grade 6th. I vividly remember our art teacher gave us the assignment to complete during the summer vacations. All the students were supposed to craft something useful with the waste materials at home.

It was just a way to educate children how to make use of waste at home positively. I was a little confused and for this reason, I took the help of my mother.

What did you make? and How did you make it?
She recommended me to make a pen stand using waste cardboards and other materials at home. I really liked the idea because pen stand was something that I could use practically. I collected all the needful material card boards, coloured papers, scissor and others and started working on it.

I gave it a shape of a rectangular box and pasted colourful papers on it and to give a personal touch I pasted the cutting of my favourite cartoon from a magazine.

How was your experience?
In fact, I also used some beads and glitters to adorn it and to give it the finishing touch. Now I was waiting eagerly to go to the school and show my work of art.

The day came and everyone brought their work at school. Our art teacher was really happy with students’ efforts and she was super impressed with my work as I had made something very simple yet very useful and practical.

Conclusion:
She appreciated me in front of the entire class and also gave me chocolate as a small gift. I must say this appreciation further developed my interest in art and later I made several other things with waste material.
