Question Overview

Topic : Money
Type : Opinion

Model Answer:

It is said that support funds given to third world nations will not address the poverty issue, and therefore developed nations ought to think of other sorts of help, which are more effective. To a particular stage, I would concur that there should be an alternate kind of help for the developing nations, but financial support would also be needed for a short period.

Many specialists think that financial supports given to developing countries are not sufficient and efficient; hence there should be other kinds of help that could be considered. Firstly, it is a fact that illiteracy has become one of the significant problems in developing countries, and developed countries could send a few of their teachers to enhance the education system there. It is hoped should the literacy rate increase, the number of unemployment will slowly reduce. Second, people of emerging nations are suffering due to the reduced quality of the health program there. Building more qualified hospitals and enhancing the quality of healthcare staff are an effective way to help them. And lastly, many third world nations have the terrible infrastructure and public transportation centers. By constructing more roads and improving the people transports there, it is hoped that people of these emerging countries are more effective as they have easier access to their workplaces.

It may be seen that each one of the other notions are long term projects, and people would see the progress after ten or fifteen years minimum. For a brief period, monetary aid is still required by the third world countries, as governments could not provide adequate health and education system, and many men and women are hungry and sick.

In summary, to a certain extent, I would agree that financial aids provided by advanced nations to emerging nations would not be the ideal solution to solving the poverty issue. However, as resolving the poverty problem would be a long-term project, financial aid should also be given for a short period, but it should be rigorously controlled.
