Model Answer

Different kinds of sport are enjoyed by sports lovers around the world and most people have their own favourite sports. These days, watching sports has grown into one of the frequent leisure activities and many men and women spend hours sitting in front of a tv. But some people today argue it is a waste of time and they advise opting to outdoor activities instead. In my opinion, watching sports on television is not a waste of time but there must be a balance between the time spent on watching sports and taking part in other sports and social activities.

First of all, watching sports is an superb form of entertainment and for most, this can be even a fire. It’s a pleasure and way of relaxation for most and in the majority of the cases, people watch sports with other people, which is a great way of socialising. I believe that watching live sports on TV has become an occasion of joying and communicating each other in several countries. However, spending hours in front of a TV set to watch different sports and not doing anything isn’t recommended.

To the contrary, many men and women claim that viewing sporting events on TV to kill the spare time isn’t a worthy activity because this time could be better utilised by taking part in other social activities and skill development programmes. People, who see TV the majority of the time, become dispersed and develop an unhealthy eating habit. Thus based on many, watching sports on TV has no significant advantages and participating in outside activities are much healthier and advantageous.

In conclusion, we must keep up a symmetry in our leisure activities; while enjoying sporting is a fantastic means of comfort and socialisation, too much of it can be harmful. We must choose lots of different free activities to boost a healthy way of life.
