Question Overview

Topic : Money
Type : Opinion

Model Answer 1

Nowadays, an increasing number of individuals encourage parents to give a little bit of pocket money per week for their children. This is because they consider that giving weekly money to young children would boost their financial management skills in future. However, some childcare organisations and guardians ask parents to avoid giving money to their own juvenile. They assert that handing over cash to their teens in early era may have deleterious consequences. But, I strongly assert that kids have the right to get a lump sum amount of cash weekly so they can readily satisfy their personal necessities and may find out better money management from an early period of the life.

Primarily, it’s intuitively obvious that teenagers who receive weekly pocket money from their parents can become experts in finance management in the long run life. Furthermore, they involve practically in financial issues and since they have limited amount they persist and try in order to accomplish all their necessities without crossing monetary bounds. Additionally, children who want to obtain a specific toy or toy for themselves begin accumulating money in their treasure boxes. Consequently, they can mostly go through the complex process of saving cash. In the end, it’s very essential for parents to devote a small budget each week for their children because children’s requirements are as compulsory as elder’s. In addition to this, the largest demerit of not providing pocket money to children is they become a casualty of inferiority complexity. Last but not least, they often make social spaces from their friends and family .

On the contrary, it is undoubtedly acknowledged that kids who begin owning money in their younger ages can immediately involve in illegal actions and poor habits. For example, drinking alcoholic drinks, taking smoking and drugs need money and children that have money could incline to these poor habits. There are considerable evidence to suggest that children who receive more money for their necessities are highly likely to commit crimes and become involved in bad customs.

In conclusion, though offspring who don’t catch a single penny from their parents are protected from becoming bad habits such as smoking and alcoholic addictions, however in my view, parents must provide freedom to their children in terms of buying their favourite and desired products and gadgets. As a result, they would likely become experts in buying, fiscal management, saving as well as bargaining.

Model Answer 2: [ Disagreement]

Lots of men and women believe giving some money to kids on a weekly basis will assist them in getting more capable when they grow old. I personally disagree with the statement and the following essay will go over some of my reasons for debate.

Primarily, by providing a small quantity of money to kids regularly we are not educating them about being independent. It’s a fact that children are learning lots of things from their parents at the first age and parents should do their very best in turning into a good role model for them. By giving money to children regularly, these parents are teaching their children that they don’t need to work hard or do something significant to make money. They’ll learn that someone will provide them some money every week that they could spend on. For example, I can remember some of my cousins that regularly get a good sum of money from their parents and they have not build any habit of becoming independent or any feeling of saving money for the rainy days.

Second, the money could be redeemed by the kids as they could spend it for purchasing inappropriate stuff. It’s incontrovertible that kids are not yet mature and don’t have the knowledge in handling their own money. They may purchase things which could be inappropriate for them, especially in third world countries where children are permitted to buy cigarettes or alcoholic drinks. Many teenagers, for example, get money from their parents and spend those for purchasing drugs or smokes which finally harm their potential rather than making any good.

In summary, some people today believe giving children a small amount of money per week would help them in becoming more competent when they become adults. I do not agree with the announcement as I feel that it could spoil them and the cash could be misused. I agree if parents would teach children to earn some money by having a part-time job through the summer vacation, so they will appreciate their earnings and invest it wisely.
