Model answer

People have different views on animal welfare. Even though there are some good arguments against keeping animals in zoos, many people believe that some cases zoos can be favourable.

To begin with, the trend of keeping animals in zoos has some drawbacks the main drawback of these is that when they move to wildlife animals can lose their instinct to hunt or fight and this can have adverse effects on the animals. Another risk to zoos is that with the original purpose they can go wrong. In addition, there are several organizations that focus on profit rather than animal welfare. For example, in order to attract more people and increase their profit they try to catch rare animals and bring them in the cage.

Despite the negative effects mentioned above, zoos still have distinct advantages. Second, they are designed to protect endangered species such as panda and rhino from both environmental and human harm. They also allow scientists to study the attributes and actions of pets in a convenient way that can save a lot of time and money. Second, zoos can help promote the local area’s economy by providing local residents with job opportunities and revenue. Last but not least, zoos are interesting and educational. Families with children, for example, can enjoy their weekend in the zoo and can also teach their children about wildlife and nature.

In conclusion keeping animals in zoos is not correct, but it should be done in a suitable and scientific manner to bring the best benefits to people and animals.
