It is an accepted fact that women are touching new heights every day, due to their lot of hard work they get massive success in all streams but still underestimated by people and they receive less attention in various activities such as sports. I think this is a negative trend since it makes women subordinate(lower in rank) to men. I would discuss some points which strengthen my viewpoint in the below paragraphs.
There are many reasons for this negative development. The prominent cause is, the mentality of the society means people’s behavior influenced women to show their talent because they think women have to take care of the family by fulfilling their wishes and grow up her children. Another fact is that older people think it would be shameful if their house women go out for work or sports.
The second reason is, it is a male-dominated world so, most of the people are interested in watching only men games and do not show any interest in female sports. To add more in this, the government also promote men sports rather than women. The financiers invest in boys games because they knew they get massive profit from it. Example, cricket is the most famous sport in India, it played by both boys and girls but cricket authorities even media also promote only men team . Moreover reporters publish men player’s interviews in newspapers or on the internet, not the women.
Furthermore, most men used to play blood thrilling(causing excitement and pleasure) action sports like wrestling, boxing and car racing while most women play many calm games like tennis, badminton and swimming which is another reason, people, show more interest in male sports than female. Last but not least, this trend not only demotivates women but put the lousy effect on country’s economy because whenever a team play some companies invest in them if they win companies also get profit, and indirectly it boost up the economy.
In conclusion, it is a negative trend because every human has a right to do what he/she wants. Women can manage all the activities either are at home or outside the home. So, women sports should give the same importance that men’s sports get. It is vital to reduce the gender gap. It will make society socially stable and economically prosperous.
