Together with the development of new technologies, people’s lifestyle is now more comfortable than it was in the past. The rapid development of those technologies brings with itself many advantages but negatively impacts these useful technological devices have on humans, and the environment could not be ignored.
With today’s available consumer products, people do not have much trouble to keep their foods or garments at the condition, which will be useful for them in each event. Time spent in preparation of meals, washing or ironing of clothing, is much less nowadays than it was in the past, and thanks to new technology. That is the biggest benefit of those consumer goods; Modern folks spend far less time doing house chores than they used to. In this manner, people can conserve some time, and time has become the most valuable aspect of today’s society.
However, on the flip side, usage of appliances in such huge amount brings with itself higher energy consumptions that lead to higher environmental pollution all over the world. Because nearly all of our energy is created from fossil fuels and coals, further increasing energy intake will lead to greater consumption of these non-renewable sources of energy that harm our environment. Even today, the Earth is about the maximum level of contamination in its history. So it is clear why folks warn on the use and overuse of customer goods.
In conclusion, modern appliances are invented to make people’s life easier, and they are successful in that, but the question is, what cost it will jump us to cover?’ I am confident that in the future these consumer goods will be more energy efficient with lesser energy consumptions for their work, which will nonetheless produce the life span of people easier and more suitable like they do today.

This trend has some negative and positive aspects, but I believe that it has more disadvantages than benefits, and this is due to the environmental damage they cause.
It is noticed that the amount of households that have consumer goods at their residence has grown rapidly in the past couple of decades. The main reason behind this trend is due to people’s busy lifestyle. They have less time to perform their family activities, and therefore they are relying on their digital devices. By way of instance, city individuals that are active with their functions are relying on their microwave oven and cooker for preparing their meals. The oven can be utilised for preparing immediate food that would save a bit of time for them. Therefore, some people today feel that the existence of electronic household apparatus brings many advantages for them.
On the other hand, another group of individuals think it is not a fantastic trend because they think that these devices could have some negative effects on the body. For example, devices such as microwave ovens or refrigerators create radiation which could result in a serious threat to your body. In such situations, the usage of the microwave oven has triggered serious diseases such as tumour and cancer. Another illustration is on the usage of CFC as it is used in digital goods like air conditioner and freezer. Many people do not realise that the use of CFC has a deadly influence on the environment, as it causes global warming. Without a doubt that the modern electronics that we use every day have made our life easier and attracted many luxuries in our life but the damages, those devices trigger is a large threat within our existence.
In summary, it is correct that the amount of people who own digital household devices has grown significantly in the last few decades. Despite all of the benefits, I believe that it has more drawbacks for our life, as these electronic products could have some serious consequences on our body and the surroundings as well.
