Museums and art exhibits have long been at the forefront of preserving and reflecting cultural values and narratives that have been used throughout the years by almost all nations. Nevertheless, it is open to debate whether they should mainly represent local cultures or show a foreign collection. Famous museums should concentrate on presenting the country’s cultural aspects and artworks while having separate museums with objects from other countries does not harm the feeling of nationality.
To begin with, university education is not limited to some lessons in the textbook as it also focuses on creating an enlightened generation through a favourable environment in which students learn to interact with each other, discover the diversity of cultures and learn to face real-life challenges. Some video scripts and printed documents are unable to teach them how to use them in the working world. For example, someone who learns an online skill finds it hard to put it into practice in the real world. Hence their poor professional performance is imminent.
In addition, instructors have extensive experience dealing with students from different backgrounds and changing their lessons depending on the students ‘ ability. In the distance learning method, this is entirely absent, and therefore the single-package-fits-all model is less productive.lt could be a classic example to take an online course to learn how to play the guitar. A recent study by Sussex University reveals that, due to lack of motivation, nine out of ten online guitar learners fail to master it, and this is where formal education comes in-motivating students. It can be beneficial for many to take distance learning courses to learn a programming language or to prepare a cuisine, but this can never be the alternatives we seek from colleges and universities to education.
In conclusion, to learn and become enlightened people, not to memorize lessons and pass tests, we attend educational institutes. While distance learning can be a benefit for our already enlightened mind, studying at a college or university can never be the same.
