Model Answer 1:
Introduction:
Well, I am quite ambitious and the ambition that I couldn’t achieve till now is moving to a foreign country for my higher study.
What it is?
It is actually my dream for long time to travel to a developed country like Canada or US where I would like to complete my higher study. Many youngsters form my country move to developed countries for better prospects.
For example, foreign universities are renowned for their quality education and their degrees and diplomas are recognized all over the world. In addition, the culture of “Earn while learn” helps youngsters to become self-dependent and responsible.
Why you haven’t achieved it?
I still remember, when I was in grade 10th one of my friends moved to Canada for further education and at that time I too wanted to migrate, but my parents didn’t allow me as I was too young. Now last year when after completing 10+2.
I planned the same, this time due to Corona there was a complete lock-down and I couldn’t start the visa filing process or anything. As a result, I couldn’t fulfil my ambition.
How you felt about it?
Now I am all set to migrate this year as I don’t want to further delay the plans as my career settlement completely depends on this ambition.
I am well aware that moving to a new country alone is not going to be a bed of roses, however, to fulfil this ambition I am ready to do whatever it takes.
Conclusion:
Overall, it is one ambition of mine which is yet to be completed.
Model Answer 2:
Ambition drives a person to advance and accomplish their goals. Well-aimed and supported by values, ambition reflects a healthy self-esteem and higher power of abstraction and visualization of the future.
Ambitious people have a gleam in their eyes as they approach their goals. I set many goals and have many ambitions but unfortunately, some of them were not fulfilled. o
Today, I would like to talk about an ambition that could not achieve till now, but I do not give up, I am trying.
What it is? and Why you haven’t achieved it?
I have set many goals for myself. Some have already been achieved and some are in progress. I am facing many problems in one dream. Its about opening a new small business in which I want to hire housewives to make money.
I want to start a recycling business that converts used clothing into other products. We knew that the housewife had the talent to reuse old items, so I want to give her a chance.
There are a lot of obstacles in my project. First is money. I had done graduation and now doing a job in a private organization. I applied for a loan in a bank but they rejected it by saying that due to a guaranty issue they could not grant a loan to me. I do not have enough funds.
How you felt about it?
When the bank rejected my loan application, I felt very disappointed but, instead of giving up, I am saving my salary for the last ten months so that I can provide basic equipment for ladies to start work. Now I am requesting my father to invest some money in my business.
Conclusion
Ladies who are ready to work with me always encourage me. So, I am still working to fulfil my dream.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 : Follow up Questions
Here some examples of follow up questions that you may asked during your speaking part 3 by examiner related to cue card “describe an ambition that you haven’t achieved”.
1. What ambitions do children usually have?
Children have many ambitions. The first ambition is mainly about the profession- in childhood, everyone has the ambition to do something noble like becoming a doctor or do something exciting like becoming a pilot or an astronaut. Then, children also have an ambition of earning huge amounts of money.
2. Why are some people very ambitious in their work?
I think it’s just a part of their nature. They are ambitious because they want to grow and achieve something in their life. They want to be known for their work.
3. Why don’t some people have dreams?
I think everyone has certain dreams. It’s just that some people are too lazy to work for their dreams. On the other hand, there are others who can do anything for their dreams and it shows.
4. How do people balance work and life?
I think everyone does it in their own way. My mother switches off her work mobile phone after 5 PM. Some people do it by taking regular breaks when they only focus on their family. I think it is something almost every person tries to do and fails. In recent years, even governments are taking steps like limiting work hours so people are able to do so.
