Model Answer 2:

Introduction:
Learning is a good thing. Learning opens up new possibilities for a better career. If we are thinking about learning a new language, it will be very beneficial as it will give us a chance to succeed. oday, I would like to talk about a new language that I have learned in the past four months and still am learning.

What language did you learn?
I want to learn the Spanish language. This is the official language of 18 US countries (Argentina, Chile, Spain, etc.). I work in a multinational corporation that deals with different countries where French and Spanish are spoken. I learned French a year ago This is why I am now learning Spanish.

What did you do?
Firstly, it is very difficult to find Spanish language classes because most classes are taught only in French or English. I chose to learn this language online. I felt this language was very difficult at first, but I don’t give up. I have created a strategy for learning new words. I download loo words and set a learning objective within a week. So far, I write down the meaning of each word in English as well as in Hindi so that I can easily use it in sentence form.

The second thing I did was to use a word in my everyday conversation. I also received support from technology. I bought Alexa, mainly to speak. I instructed him to speak English and Spanish. This way, I practice. I did it for three months now I’m able to understand and speak the Spanish language.

how do you feel about it?
I am very happy because our company will be launching a project in the next two months that is based primarily on the Spanish nations. I may have the opportunity to travel to these countries as only four to five employees are able to speak and understand Spanish.

  • But then she told me that she was learning from a mobile app called Duolingo.
  • She really loved the app and told me it had short lessons and all you need is 10-15 minutes a day.
  • I downloaded the Duolingo app on my phone and a desktop version on my computer.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 : Follow up Questions

Here some examples of follow up questions that you may asked during your speaking part 3 by examiner related to cue card “describe a thing you did to learn another language”.

1. What difficulties do people face when learning a language?
One of the challenges is the phonological difference. There are some sounds that exist in one language but not in the other language. Another difficulty is learning the grammar and the sentence structure of the new language.
OR
Different languages have different grammar rules and sentence structures. Anyone learning a new language needs to learn all the grammatical rules that are difficult to remember because we are less familiar. Also, the way you speak depends on the language.

2. Do you think language learning is important? Why?
Yes, I think language learning is important as it develops skills such as communication and cultural awareness. Learning a foreign language also opens all sorts of career opportunities. Learning new languages leads to cognitive development. Bilingual and multilingual children do better in other subjects too.
OR
The benefits of studying languages are undeniable. People who talk multiple language have advanced memory, problem-fixing and critical-wondering skills, more suitable concentration, and higher listening skills.

3. Which is better, to study alone or to study in a group? Why?
A. When you study in a group, you tend to retain more information. This is because you interpret 3-our notes and put the information into your own words rather than reading a textbook.
B. The benefit of studying alone is that it minimizes distractions, allows you to go at your own pace, and can improve your concentration. When you are alone, distractions are minimized since you have no interaction other than schoolwork. You can take breaks whenever you feel tired, or even read at a pace that suits you.

4. What’s the best way to learn a language?
There are many ways to learn a language. There is no one best way. One must do a combination of things to get fluent in a language like practicing daily on language learning apps like Duolingo, watching movies in the foreign language, reading books and newspapers, having a tutor or a native speaker online to practice with, and traveling to those countries.
OR
People attend language classes( online/ offline) to learn a new language but I think a person cannot learn a new language till he/she does practice themselves such as using the words of new language in their daily conversation, setting a target to memories 20 words a day and ready the new language book to understand it.
