Model Answer:

Introduction:
Well, today, television is not only a source of entrainment but also education. There are so many educational channels like Discovery, Nat Geo, Animal Planet, and others, and I often spend handsome time watching these channels.

What science topic this TV program was about? and When did you see this TV program?
Though I have seen many science-based programs on these channels, I would love to talk about Earth 2050, which I watched a few months ago. It was a telecast on the Discovery channel, and it was around 8 in the evening when I was watching the show just spending 5 minutes developed my curiosity as the program, or the documentary was so intriguing that I watched it for the complete hour.

What did you learn from this TV program about a science topic?
I must say the prime objective behind this documentary was to educate people or to make them aware of the gravity of the problem of global warming. Though I have read about this particular concern, I never knew how serious it is already. So many facts and figures were shown to make people understand how the problem leads to the end of life on this planet.

As per the assumptions of environmentalists, by 2050, there will be no possibility of life on planet earth because of the rate at which the surface temperature of the earth is increasing; by 2050, the polar ice will melt, and the planet earth will submerge in water. I also learned about climate change which has already started to show its presence.

Today natural disasters such as floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes are becoming so frequent in different parts of the world, which is responsible for the huge loss of life and property. All this is happening just because human is playing with nature in the form of the construction of dams, clearing of forests, and many others.

By the end, there was a message for the viewers that the problem could still be resolved even though it was already too late. And for this, there must be every individual’s sincere efforts or contributions.

Conclusion:
I was not only informed by watching this documentary, but it gave me the inspiration and the motivation to play my part to contribute to saving the environment. Overall, it was one of the various shows based on science that I watched on television.
