Question Overview

Topic : Children and Parent
Type : Opinion

Model Answer :

How much liberty children ought to be given on routine matters is controversial. People who are against enabling boundless liberty to kids consider allowing too much independence would create egotistical people in our society while others think it is necessary to cultivate imagination and to create self-reliant people. I believe that parents should neither give absolute immunity to their kids, nor they ought to control them in each thing – there must be a balance.

On the one hand, permitting children to do anything they want and letting them chose everything they enjoy daily would convince youngsters they can do whatever they like. This is damaging to the growth of children, and these kids would become selfish and self-centred when they grow up. Scientific research shows that somebody’s childhood experience has a permanent impact on his personality and thinking pattern. That is why parents must make critical decisions for their offspring and dissuade them from doing things that are damaging to their emotional and physical growth.

On the flip side, psychologists express that parents do not allow their children to select certain things by themselves and restrict them on everything; the kids would eventually become fragile-minded and lack confidence. If children cannot pick things they like and do not have any freedom of choice, they could end up being less creative than those who have been given the freedom to make their own decisions.

In conclusion, our society demands more creative and selfless people, and that is the reason we should allow absolute freedom to our kid, but there should be a border of freedom.
